For the Orphans of Arindale, it did not take them very long to realize they did not quite fit in. In a town full of only humans, the group of young members of a variety of races stook out like a sore thumb. Though all grew up as good natured children, they always drew the glances of the town folk, and never quite were accepted by the other children of the town.

However, not all were fearful of the group. They owed much to Airon, the town’s teacher. He never saw their outer appearance, only the spirits inside, eager to learn. He spent many hours both in and out of school teaching them all he could.

But there was one lesson that he could not teach. The orphans never gave up on finding the identities of their parents, an answer that could come at a much greater cost than they ever imagined.
